Girls Tennis – Girls tennis led by Senior Morgan Frechie is dominating once again. They had a strong 6-1 win over rival Lower Merion, and despite a close 4-3 loss to Conestoga in the central league championship game, the girls head into district play looking to defend their state championship for the 6th consecutive year. Harriton has also been backed by strong showings from Junior Jennie Shulkin and Sophomore Marni Blumenthal. Good luck to the girls as they go for an incredible 6th straight state title.
Golf – The Harriton Golf team has enjoyed another successful year, as they go into their final game of the year with a winning record. From decisive wins over Upper Darby, Ridley and Garnet Valley to match against Strath Haven that the Rams won by a single stroke, the golf team has been providing plenty of excitement this year. They even had 3 students qualify for Districts: Timmy Brooks, Sam Hockfeild and Savanna Williams.
Cross Country- Cross Country has had its struggles this year against the tough Central League, but they hope to win big at districts. Led by freshman Max Norris and sophomore Peter Downs, the varsity team hopes to turn its fortunes around and represent Harriton well at districts on October 30th.
Field Hockey – Perhaps you have noticed in recent weeks, the shouting, and hollering in the hallways by the members of the field hockey team. Well they have had reason to celebrate. Their record stands at 6-6 overall and they are 3-5 against teams in their league. They are ranked 6th out of 12 teams in their league which is a big step up from being 11th last year. They hope to score wins in their final games of the regular season vs. Chichester and Radnor.
Boys Soccer-The Harriton boys soccer team has recovered from a shaky start behind the play of senior forward Patrick Lawson. After dropping close district contests to Upper Darby and Springfield early in the season, the Rams recovered to take key victories against Strath Haven, Marple Newtown, and Chichester. After five out of its last seven contest have been decided by a single goal the Rams have been sticking tough to their central league competition. At the moment Harriton is ahead of Springfield, the only other AA team in the Central League. If the Rams can hold their lead, their chances at a district playoff berth increase.
Girls Soccer- The Harriton girls soccer team got off to a fast start this season, winning four out of their first five games. However, injuries and their tough Central League schedule caused the team to hit a bit of a snag in recent games. Their record currently stands at 5-8 as they hope to capitalize on key league matchups with Interboro and Radnor to close out their season as they make their playoff push.
