Moira Lavelle: Editor-in-Chief
Moira Lavelle is a senior who is thrilled to spend another year as Editor-in-Chief of the Harriton Banner. She has been working with the paper since before she entered high school. When she isn’t busy editing, Moira enjoys swimming, writing for the Corinthian, and elephants. She hopes you enjoy the Banner this year!
Jackie Milestone: Editor-in-Chief
Jackie Milestone loves her job as the Banner’s editor-in-chief, and is so happy to be taking on the role with Moira Lavelle! She is in 12th grade and this her fourth year with the Harriton Banner. WISDOM TO LIVE BY: if you are ever feeling stressed and have six articles beginning to pile up and do not know what to do with yourself, just take a deep breath, eat some ice cream, and remember that you are surrounded by a great, supportive group of people called the Harriton Banner Staff.
Ryan Smith: Web Editor-in-Chief
This is Ryan Smith’s fourth year writing for the Harriton Banner. After spending a year learning the ropes as Online Sports Editor, he is excited to serve as Editor-in-Chief of the web edition as a senior. Alex Settle: Sports Editor (Assistant Editor-in-Chief)
Alex Settle is a senior entering his fourth year writing for the Banner. When he’s not busy being the Sports Editor for the second consecutive year or simultaneously serving as Assistant Editor-in-Chief, he enjoys long walks on the beach, abusing the quotient rule, and occasionally other things. He hopes you enjoy the Banner in 2011 and reminds you to please, settle down. He also runs the Harriton Banner’s Twitter at twitter.com/harritonbanner.
Julia Geftman: News Editor (Assistant Editor-in-Chief)
Julia Geftman is a junior and will be going on her third year as a member of The Banner. After writing for the Features and Arts and Entertainment section her freshman year and being the editor of the Local section her sophomore year, she is excited to take on a new role as the News Editor. She is looking forward to having another successful year as a member of The Banner staff and can’t wait to see what how great the paper will be this year.
Victoria Sun: Arts and Entertainment Editor
Victoria Sun is a Harriton senior and the Arts and Entertainment editor. She spent her first two years writing for various Harriton Banner sections, including Op-Ed and Features before assuming the role of A&E editor last year. She is super excited for the upcoming year! Victoria’s looking forward to sharing students’ perspectives on today’s movies, books, music, and much more.
Julia Olivieri: Op-Ed Editor
Julia Olivieri is a Harriton senior and the Op-Ed editor of the Banner this year. She started writing for the Banner last year in the Arts and Entertainment section, and is looking forward to editing and expanding her experience this year. Julia looks forward to working with the talented staff of the paper this year, and can’t wait to bring all the diverse opinions of the student body to the paper, from ideas about global issues and politics to perspectives on school-related controversies.
Yidi Wu: Features Editor
Yidi Wu is the Features editor in her second year with the Harriton Banner. This is her junior year, and as such, she’s prepared to wake up with blood-shot eyes every morning (and yes, that’s the lack of sleep) due to all the odds and ends she signed up for, but have no fear – she is hugely excited to be working in Features this year, involved in many aspects of the school, and would love to hear from you of something special going on this month.
Carlie Ladda: Local Editor
Carlie Ladda is a junior entering her second year on the Harriton Banner. Last year she was a staff writer for the local section. This year she looks forward to being editor of the local section. She is very excited to become more involved in the Banner and help it become the best it can be!
Holden McGinnis: Science/Tech Editor
Holden McGinnis is a junior entering his second year with the Banner. Having spent last year as a staff writer for the sports section, he is looking forward to branching out into uncharted territory with the Banner’s newest section Science and Technology. He currently participates in a variety of school activities including Science Olympiad and Jazz Band.
Julia Carp: Spotlight Editor
Julia Carp is a junior who will be entering her third year with the Harriton Banner. She is excited to have the opportunity to continue her role as editor of the Spotlight section. She is eagerly looking forward to capturing the unique aspects of the students’ lives that are not seen on campus. Julia encourages all Harriton students to read and write for the Banner.
Sylvie Krause: Photo Editor
Sylvie Krause is entering her second year as Photo Editor of the Harriton Banner. Having contributed to the paper for her entire high school career, she is excited for her fourth time around as a senior and will continue to add life to the print and online editions of the Banner.
Cassie Seltzer: Center Spread Editor
Cassie Seltzer is a junior who began writing for the Harriton Banner two years ago. She worked predominantly on the news section her sophomore year and is looking forward to assuming additional responsibility and paving the way as Center Spread Editor this year.
Allison Schwartz: Assistant Center Spread Editor
Allison Schwartz is a sophomore at Harriton. She started writing for the Banner last year as a staff writer for the Opinion and Local sections. In her spare time, Allison enjoys playing tennis and the piano, writing, and baking. Allison is so excited to be a part of the Harriton Banner editorial staff this year, and cannot wait to help make the Banner even better!
Sam Lincoln: Assistant Working Editor
Sam Lincoln is a junior who has been writing for the Banner her entire high school career. She looks forward to specializing as an assistant on the website this year and bringing all kinds of global news to the Harriton student body. Outside of the paper she also works with the Student Council and Academic Decathlon.
Brandon Lapensohn: Assistant Working Editor
Brandon Lapensohn is a sophomore at Harriton. Here at the Banner, he serves as Assistant Working Editor of the Web Edition. His main interests are playing sports, reading, and writing. He encourages all students this year to check out our website to find the latest and greatest news about our school.
